Join Our Team!
We are seeking a skilled Substation Technician to join our team.
This is a journey-level position; however, qualified Substation Apprentices who are progressing toward journey-level qualifications and have an electrician license or lineman certification are encouraged to apply!
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional who enjoys technical work, troubleshooting, and working with a variety of utility equipment and systems.
What You'll Do
  • Construct, operate, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair electric substations and associated equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical, control, protective relaying, SCADA, PLC, and communication systems.
  • Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical systems at hydroelectric facilities.
  • Perform journey-level electrical work, preventive maintenance, equipment testing, switching, and emergency repairs.
  • Provide direction and training to Substation Apprentices and participate in the rotating on-call schedule.
  • Perform all work safely and in accordance with Company policies, electrical codes, and applicable regulations.
What We're Looking For
  • Journey-level Substation Technician Certification through an approved DOL program; or a Substation Apprentice progressing toward journey-level qualifications.
  • Journeyman electrician license.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, protective relaying, SCADA, PLCs, and utility equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
