POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Engineer serves as a technical expert, leading the design and implementation of complex power system protection and automation projects for REI Utility Services' clients. This role provides advanced engineering support, project leadership, and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with industry standards, and client satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Lead design and development of complex substation protection schemes and automation systems.
  • Perform advanced power system analysis, relay coordination studies, and protection settings.
  • Serve as the technical lead on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Interface directly with clients, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical issues.
  • Lead commissioning efforts for new facilities and oversee troubleshooting of complex system issues.
  • Review and approve engineering documents, drawings, and calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; PE in Texas and/or Oklahoma preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of electric utility or power engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership in design, analysis, and commissioning of protection systems.

  • Expert knowledge of electrical theory, protection systems, and industry standards.
  • Advanced proficiency with CAD and electrical modeling software.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • Ability to manage high-complexity projects with minimal supervision.

COMPENSATION
This is a full-time, exempt salaried position with an annual base salary range of $110,000 - $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications. The Senior Engineer is eligible for performance-based bonuses paid biannually, subject to company policy and individual performance standards.
