Incumbents construct and maintain the overhead and underground electrical service distribution systems. Responsibilities may include the installation, repair, replacement, and inspection of equipment and materials required for the transmission and distribution of electric power. Work performed may need to be done while the system is energized. Responsibilities also include collaborating with the Foreman to train Apprentice Line Workers, furthering their skills and abilities, and promoting personal development and continuous learning. Employees are also expected to maintain an inventory of standard parts and equipment and keep records of activities as required by policy and procedure. Additionally, they are expected to uphold the highest safety standards as outlined in the American Public Power Association (APPA) Safety Manual and any other applicable safety policies, rules, and regulations.Essential Duties and Responsibilities· Installs, maintains, and repairs electric systems, which may include Constructing, installing, removing, and servicing secondary distribution lines both overhead and underground, as well as performing work on energized and de-energized lines. It frequently requires digging when installing poles, anchors, and underground lines.· Effectively capable of climbing utility poles to perform work when necessary, safely, and meet all safety requirements on an annual basis· Operates vehicles of various sizes, weights, and descriptions safely and cautiously, following all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including DOT and Commercial Driver's License requirements.· Attend regular training as required; participate in any other meetings, training, or other required programs as specified, including all safety meetings, and maintain and follow all safety requirements as outlined by CDE Lightband, APPA, OSHA, TOSHA, and any other local, state, or regulatory agency.· Monitors and maintains inventory of parts and equipment while working with warehouse personnel to maintain accurate outgoing and incoming connections with assigned work;
