Job description

Electric Boat Information Technology (EB IT) is responsible for Electric Boat's enterprise and special use information systems, such as product design environments, collaboration platforms, and office productivity suites.  EB IT supports over 20,000 end-users in a wide variety of work environments, networks and locations.

Electric Boat Information Technology is pursuing a highly skilled and professional IT Support Specialist dedicated to providing white-glove technical support to executive and VIP personnel located in Groton, New London, and Quonset Point. The ideal candidate will deliver prompt, discreet, and high-quality IT assistance—ensuring seamless technology experiences for senior leadership and high-profile users in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated on-site and remote IT support to executives, board members, and VIP staff, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Ensure impeccable presentation and performance of all executive-facing technologies (conference rooms, mobile devices, collaboration tools, AV systems, etc.).
  • Proactively monitor, test, and maintain executive systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Manage and support VIP laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals, including Windows, and iOS platforms.
  • Coordinate with other IT teams (Network, AV, Infra, Cloud, etc.) to resolve escalated issues promptly.
  • Provide concierge-style technical assistance for travel, presentations, and events involving executives.
  • Document issues, track resolutions, and contribute to continuous improvement of VIP support processes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive data or user information.
  • Provide after-hours or on-call support for urgent VIP requests as needed.

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, service desk, or desktop engineering roles.
  • Experience in Windows 10/11, iOS, and Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, Intune, etc.).
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain final DoD secret clearance

Preferred:

  • Experience in enterprise or government environments supporting C-suite or high-clearance personnel.
  • Experience supporting conference room and A/V systems (Teams Rooms, Crestron, Logitech, etc.).
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft 365 certifications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL service management principles.
  • Experience using ServiceNow ticketing platform

  • This role requires exceptional communication, technical depth, and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential matters and resolve complex issues efficiently and tactfully.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with executive presence and strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure, time-sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
