Job description

Pete Lane’s Mountain Sports is looking for seasonal Bike Mechanics willing to work in a fast-paced team environment. We are looking for a team-member with a positive attitude and a get it done mindset. Pete Lane’s Mountain Sports operates a large bike rental operation with e-bikes, mountain bikes, comfort bikes, gravel bikes and kid’s bikes in the heart of Sun Valley resort. We are a Trek, Kona, and Norco bike dealer and have hundreds of miles of paved trails and single track right outside our doors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Pete Lane’s entire bike rental fleet in top condition
  • Work with guests on tune and repair services for their personal bikes
  • Maintain and use diagnostic tools for electric bikes
  • Perform all maintenance work promptly
  • Clean and organize the tools and shop daily
  • Problem-solving customer requests for rental or personal bikes
  • Help fit customers for bikes during peak rental times
  • Document all maintenance work performed on the rental fleet
  • Manage the supply inventory and notify the supervisor when additional inventory is needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous work/formal training as a bike mechanic
  • Reliable, honest, team player, willing to learn
  • Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays
