Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Tier 1 Desktop Support / Refresh Technician to support a large healthcare environment. This individual will be responsible for deploying, imaging, upgrading, and troubleshooting Windows-based devices used by clinical and administrative staff throughout the hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, experience supporting end users in a Windows environment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 desktop support for hospital employees, physicians, and administrative staff.
  • Deploy, image, configure, and refresh desktop computers, laptops, workstations, and peripheral devices.
  • Install and support Windows 10/11 operating systems and enterprise applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, printer, and basic network connectivity issues.
  • Perform workstation moves, adds, changes, and equipment replacements.
  • Configure and support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, and Office Suite.
  • Assist with user account support in Active Directory, including password resets and account troubleshooting.
  • Document incidents, requests, and asset information within the IT ticketing system.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and asset management records.
  • Support device deployments in clinical and non-clinical areas while minimizing disruption to patient care.
  • Follow hospital security, compliance, and patient privacy policies.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to Tier 2/Desktop Engineering teams as needed.
  • Provide hands-on support for hardware rollouts, technology refresh projects, and large-scale deployment initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 1+ years of Desktop Support, IT Support, Help Desk, or Refresh Technician experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and/or Windows 11 environments.
  • Hands-on experience with computer imaging and device deployment.
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory and user account administration.
  • Experience troubleshooting desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 products.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift and transport computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work throughout multiple hospital buildings and departments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting healthcare or hospital environments.
  • Experience with SCCM, MECM, Intune, or other endpoint management tools.
  • Knowledge of hardware asset management and inventory tracking.
  • Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM ticketing platforms.
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent technical certification.
  • Familiarity with clinical workstation deployments and medical device connectivity.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Providence, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
