Linfield University's School of Nursing is seeking a collaborative and experienced Experiential Learning Center (ELC) Manager to provide operational leadership for our Experiential Learning Center. This position plays a critical role in ensuring excellence in simulated learning experiences for nursing students through oversight of laboratory operations, simulation support, budgeting, compliance, equipment management, and personnel supervision.
Job Summary
The ELC Manager provides operational leadership to the ELC to assure excellence in simulated learning experiences for Linfield University School of Nursing students. Responsibilities include overseeing operations and functioning of the learning lab and simulation center, budget preparation and management, maintenance of compliance with regulatory standards, acquisition of supplies and equipment, and supervision of all staff working in the ELC.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Lab Operations
โ€ข Maintains ELC compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards.
โ€ข Oversees all aspects of scheduling the ELC, including preparation and cleanup for classes, open labs, and simulations.
โ€ข Coordinates with the Director of Clinical Education, Clinical Course Coordinators, and Director of Simulation to plan and set up clinical nursing skills acquisition and performance evaluation activities.
โ€ข In conjunction with select School of Nursing committees, oversees all quality improvement processes for the ELC, including data collection, analysis, reporting, and recommendations.
Equipment and Supplies
โ€ข Oversees the ordering, cataloging, and maintenance of a current inventory of supplies for the ELC.
โ€ข Oversees equipment and software acquisition for the ELC.
โ€ข Assures repair and maintenance of all ELC equipment.
โ€ข Coordinates the course equipment loan system.
Budget Management
โ€ข Solicits requests from faculty for supply and equipment needs in preparation of the annual ELC budget.
โ€ข Working with the Associate Dean, prepares and administers the budget for the ELC.
Personnel
โ€ข Participates in hiring all ELC staff.
โ€ข Supervises and evaluates the performance of all ELC staff.
โ€ข Oversees the hiring and supervision of work-study students and standardized patients in the ELC.
Health and Professional Requirements
โ€ข Oversees systems and processes for tracking and verifying compliance with state, university, and site-specific health and professional requirements.
โ€ข Maintains nursing webpages related to ELC resources.
โ€ข Coordinates professional learning opportunities for faculty and staff in the ELC.
Other Responsibilities
โ€ข Represents the ELC on School of Nursing committees as needed.
โ€ข Assists with community and educational visits to the School of Nursing.
Qualifications
Required
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
โ€ข Relevant experience in simulation and/or healthcare.
โ€ข Relevant supervisory experience.
โ€ข Excellent communication and management skills.
โ€ข Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and online learning management systems.
Preferred
โ€ข Healthcare experience in fields such as EMT, nursing, or other relevant roles.
โ€ข Master's degree in an applicable field.

Work is performed in office and lab environments, with constant sitting; seeing; hand, wrist, and finger repetitive motions; and hearing. The position requires frequent movement between labs within the building and potential exposure to chemicals and electrical currents.
