Job description

Job Title: Senior Pega Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka & Private Cloud)

Location: Minneapolis, MN (3 days hybrid)(local only)

Duration: Long term contract


Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Pega Infrastructure Engineer with strong experience in Pega platform deployment and administration on Private Cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in externalizing Pega services such as Kafka and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, containerizing Pega applications, and deploying solutions on AWS-based private cloud infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Pega Platform infrastructure in Private Cloud environments.
  • Configure and manage Pega externalized services including:
  • Apache Kafka
  • Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
  • Deploy and administer containerized Pega applications using:
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Amazon EKS
  • Helm
  • Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Configure and manage highly available Kafka environments including:
  • Topic management
  • Partitioning and replication
  • Security (SSL/TLS, SASL, IAM, ACLs)
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Manage OpenSearch/Elasticsearch clusters, indexing, retention, and search optimization.
  • Implement infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
  • Support production environments, incident management, performance tuning, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Collaborate with application, DevOps, security, and architecture teams to deliver scalable enterprise solutions.


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Pega Infrastructure/Cloud experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Pega deployment and administration on Private Cloud.
  • Experience externalizing Pega services such as Kafka and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
  • Hands-on experience with:
  • Apache Kafka / Amazon MSK
  • Elasticsearch/OpenSearch
  • AWS Cloud Services
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes / Amazon EKS
  • Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, certificates, and access controls.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Pega Containerization.
  • Experience deploying Pega on Kubernetes-based platforms.
  • AWS certifications.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or ELK/OpenSearch.
  • Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and enterprise security practices.
