This role is ideal for an engineer looking to deepen their technical expertise while gaining exposure to complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and designers while building the foundation to grow into a future technical or project leadership role.

Your Impact

You'll make a difference by:

  • Supporting the conceptual and detailed design of stormwater and drainage infrastructure for rail, transit, highway, and municipal projects.
  • Developing drainage layouts, profiles, special details, and quantities using Civil 3D or MicroStation.
  • Performing hydraulic and hydrologic modelling using tools such as PCSWMM, and contributing to model interpretation and reporting.
  • Preparing  design drawings, technical memoranda, and reports in coordination with senior engineers.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to integrate drainage solutions
  • Incorporating municipal, provincial, and regulatory requirements into project designs.
  • Supporting project teams through design reviews, coordination meetings, and client interactions.
  • Continuously developing your technical skills with mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in designing stormwater management and drainage systems.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline) and eligibility for P.Eng. registration, or recent P.Eng. designation.
  • Experience in both conceptual and detailed design of stormwater infrastructure.
  • Handson experience using Civil 3D and/or MicroStation for drainage design.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic modelling tools, with PCSWMM experience required.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, consulting environment.

The following would be additional assets:

  • Experience working in more than one Canadian province.
  • Familiarity with additional hydraulic software such as XPSWMM, InfoDrainage, InfoWorks ICM, or HECRAS.
  • Experience supporting rail, transit, or highway drainage projects.
  • Local knowledge of the Calgary / Alberta regulatory environment.
