Your Opportunity, Your Team

  • The Environmental Health and Safety Manager supports Cornerstone Brands (Ballard Designs, Frontgate, Grandin Road, Garnet Hill), and will develop and oversee programs to protect team members from hazards, safeguard the environment from company impacts and ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations. You will report to the Director of Operations Services.

Where You'll Work

  • This role is onsite and will require you to work from our West Chester, OH distribution center daily. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret all regulatory standard requirements, and develop and implement EHS programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and/or state and local regulatory and company requirements. You will lead and audit the execution of these programs and record keep to ensure compliance.

  • Lead efficient and effective EHS programs to ensure the design, construction and operation of safe facilities to lower risk and reduce hazard potential across all locations, driving a culture and commitment to EHS consistently across Cornerstone locations.

  • Oversee a team of safety specialists, and your team will partner with site and company leadership, legal counsel, HR, and insurance providers.

  • Implement the company's EHS metrics, KPI's and means of measurement. Analyze data for trends and identify areas of opportunity. Measure performance against published requirements and report results on a regular basis.

  • Partner with the site leadership for all regulatory agency inquiries (OSHA, EPA, DOT or state equivalent). Work with site leadership and legal counsel to develop responses to investigations, agency requests and proposed citations. You will also be the primary spokesperson responsible for reporting serious injuries (fatalities, amputations, hospitalizations, etc.) to Federal or State OSHA in accordance with regulatory expectations. You will partner with internal legal counsel for appropriate response.

  • Hold site Safety Specialists and site leadership accountable to eliminate risk and hazard potential, properly manage each individual work-related incident and drive forward a ZERO incident safety culture at all levels. You will review accident trends, educate leadership on safety expectations and requirements, and address areas of opportunity.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in EHS program management with emphasis on program development, reducing injuries, and driving safety culture.

  • Basic experience/knowledge with LEAN principles, process improvement, and change management.

  • Experience leading and influencing people.

  • Availability to travel 10%
