Job description

The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Technician supports the organization’s efforts to maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role plays a key part in daily EHS operations, including regulatory compliance, safety inspections, environmental monitoring, training support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Technician works closely with the EHS Manager and cross‑functional teams to strengthen the company’s safety culture and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • EHS Program Support — Standardize and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs. Assist EHS manager as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance — Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, TDEC, etc.). Update and maintain compliance calendars.
  • Safety Inspections — Conduct routine workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and job‑specific safety evaluations.
  • Incident Management — Support incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective action tracking.
  • Data & Metrics — Collect, analyze, and report safety and environmental performance data.
  • Training Support — Prepare training materials, assist with hands‑on instruction, and maintain training records.
  • Documentation & Reporting — Maintain EHS logs, permits, inspection records, and audit documentation.
  • Environmental Monitoring — Assist with waste management, recycling programs, emissions tracking, and spill prevention.
  • Emergency Preparedness — Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to promote a proactive safety culture.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, Engineering or related field
  • Foundational knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT and related compliance standards
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and perform basic measurements and calculations
