The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) is seeking qualified and dedicated Electroencephalography (EEG) Technicians to support our Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratories and provide exceptional care to our nation's Veterans.

This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside a multidisciplinary healthcare team in one of the nation's largest and most respected Veterans healthcare systems. EEG Technicians will support routine diagnostic studies, long-term monitoring, ICU monitoring, and specialized neurophysiology services in a dynamic clinical environment.

  • EEG Technician On-Call
  • EEG Technician Call-Back


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine EEG studies in accordance with established clinical standards.
  • Assist with long-term EEG monitoring and specialized neurophysiology testing.
  • Support ICU EEG monitoring and critical patient assessments.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain testing processes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
  • Ensure proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of EEG equipment.
  • Collaborate with neurologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all VA policies, patient safety standards, and infection control procedures.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a two-year Clinical Neurophysiology/EEG program or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree.
  • Current license, certification, or registration as required by a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Ability to meet competency requirements established by the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Diplomate of the American Board of Registered EEG Technologists (ABRET) or equivalent credential.
  • Documented experience performing 200 or more EEG studies.
  • Experience with:
    • Long-Term EEG Monitoring (LTM)
    • Intensive Care Unit (ICU) EEG Monitoring
    • Continuous EEG Monitoring
    • Epilepsy Monitoring
  • Completion of ABRET online educational courses.
  • Strong patient care, communication, and documentation skills.
