If you love education, travel, and making the world a better place, this might be your dream internship. The Road Scholar Design team is seeking a Digital Design Intern to join us for the Fall of 2026.

Road Scholar offers a remote internship for the Fall semester, starting Tuesday, September 8, 2026 - Friday, December 18, 2026, 20 hours per week. Applications will be accepted through July 16, 2026.  

In this internship you will...

As our team’s digital design intern, you will be working with a close-knit group of designers, writers, and marketing stakeholders to assist in the production of email, blogs, web pages, social media graphics, and more.   You will be responsible for selecting, editing and uploading product photos to the Road Scholar website, assist in the creation of landing pages using Road Scholar’s web CMS, and translating manuscripts into polished digital content. Your work will support our mission and inspire our consumers to learn, discover and travel with Road Scholar.

What you'll do... 

  • Select, edit and upload photos for Road Scholar trips, instructors, collections, and other web landing pages
  • Design templates for social media content and create assets for the social team
  • Provide creative support to and take direction from senior designers in producing high-quality digital assets for web, blogs, social media, and more
  • Present your work to marketing leadership at the end of your internship

    What you will learn or practice... 

    • Hone your design skills as you create digital assets for web and social media platforms
    • Gain a strong understanding of the digital design production process in a marketing context and environment and learn the nuances of an in-house design team.
    • Strengthen your problem-solving skills as you practice thinking on your feet in a design setting
    • How to strategize, conceptualize and execute creative testing campaigns

    • Junior or senior year at an accredited college or university
    • The freedom to work 20 hours/week for 14-16 weeks (September – December 2026) - working remote
    • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software, including Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator.
    • Working knowledge of Canva
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take and implement feedback, and prioritize work
    • Experience in HTML/CSS
    • An interest in clean typography with an emphasis on user experience and accessibility
    • A willingness to learn and enthusiasm to help wherever you can
    • An online or digital portfolio (ok to include college work)
    • Preferred: majoring in digital design, illustration, web or UX design, or another related field
    • Nice to have: Experience in content management systems and/or project management tools

          Internship Details...

          This 14-16 week internship runs during the Fall semester, between September 8, 2026 and December 18, 2026, with some flexibility depending on your school schedule. The internship is remote, 20 hours/week with flexible weekly schedule during business hours. A flat stipend of $3,840.00 is paid for this internship. The stipend is paid at 50% halfway through the internship and the other 50% after successful completion of the internship. College credit where applicable.
