Function
The Coordinator of Innovative Technologies will lead the District's efforts in designing, implementing, and evaluating the instructional programs within CCISD integrating cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality education for all students by overseeing curriculum development, teacher training, and assessment practices that leverage AI and other digital tools to enhance teaching and learning while ensuring compliance with data privacy, security, and ethical standards. This individual will work closely with educators, technology teams, and campus and District administrators to align TEKS based curriculum and effective instructional practices to meet District goals using innovative solutions.

Senior Director of Teaching and Learning
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Implementation
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the District curriculum that is aligned to State standards and proven best practices
Instructional Leadership:
- Provides guidance and support to District Content Specialists and campus leadership teams on effective instructional strategies, best practices, and the integration of technology and AI in the classroom fostering a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning
- Strives to improve leadership skills through self-Initiated development activities, reading professional journals and publications, attending conferences and participating in training programs
Professional Development
- Identify continuous improvement trends, develop engaging job embedded professional development training, and incorporate a feedback loop to assist campus leadership teams in providing implementation support
- Stays informed on PK-12 pedagogy, curriculum standards, and assessment practices to tailor AI solutions to improve student outcomes
Assessment and Evaluation
- Collaborate with Content Specialists and other District departments to develop and implement assessment systems that monitor student progress, evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction, and include student, teacher, and campus feedback
- Analyze data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement
- Identifies continuous improvement trends, develop engaging job embedded professional development training, and incorporate a feedback loop to assist campus leadership teams in providing implementation support
Strategic Planning:
- Designs and oversees the District's AI Academy for Educators, providing structured training that builds staff capacity, fosters responsible AI use, and empowers teachers to integrate AI tools in ways that enhance instruction, streamline workflows, and support student learning.
Collaborate and Communication
- Frequent collaboration and communication with teachers, administrators, and District stakeholders to ensure the Teaching and Learning department is communicating information
effectively, addressing questions and concerns, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
- Collaborates with technology department on the district's long-term technology plan, focusing on the adoption and integration of AI for instructional, operational, and administrative purposes
- Creates metrics to evaluate the success and impact of AI and other technological implementations on teaching and learning
Ethical and Legal Considerations:
- Addresses ethical challenges related to AI use, including bias, equity, and access issues, ensuring that all students benefit equally from technology
- Ensures compliance with relevant laws, including FERPA, CIPA, and COPPA, and advise on AI policies that protect student privacy and promote responsible use
- Develops and implements district policies to guide the responsible use of AI and other technologies, emphasizing transparency and inclusivity
