Job Description
WHAT IS THE POSITION?
The Software Developer is responsible for detailed design and development of software in the areas of software design, implementation, deployment support and unit testing. The Software Developer is responsible for independently working on a project under the day-to-day supervision of an NVISIA Project Manager.
Applicants must be comfortable with 20% regional travel.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-2 years of strong Java programming experience
  • Excellent Java/C++ programming skills in a team environment
  • Experience with EJB, JSP, J2EE, WebSphere, WebLogic
  • Distributed Systems experience
  • Full Lifecycle Software Development skills
  • Experience using Struts and Hibernate
  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented Design Principles
  • Solid understanding of UML

Qualifications
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience working collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, including ability to communicate software design with various skill levels
  • Great attitude and commitment to get the job done
  • Strong problem solving and effective time management skills
  • Has a proven record of fostering a positive working relationship between NVISIA and the client's internal staff
  • Willingness to travel over-night
  • Ability and strong desire to understand and utilize new technologies

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • BA or BS, preferably in computer science, engineering or science / technology-based discipline
  • Demonstrated initiative as self-starter
  • Experience with different Software Development Lifecycle methodologies
