Position Summary
The UNM School of Engineering is seeking an experienced Program Manager to assist with multiple programs and projects. Current activities include supporting the Responsive and Resilient AI for Autonomous Systems (RAISE) program, which is an NSF National Research Traineeship that provides state-of-the-art graduate research and education in human-centered, autonomous systems engineering at UNM, as well as additional contract and grant research related activities with our Research Support Office as we receive funding. These endeavors will require professional operations expertise to keep the work on track.
In its first year with students, RAISE has successfully piloted its first cohort of RAISE Fellows, established a new, interdisciplinary graduate certificate, and developed industry partnerships. As RAISE seeks to broaden its impact and sustainability, the next 3 years will focus on building on programmatic strengths and expanding reach. Specifically, in the coming year, we seek to expand RAISE programmatic offerings to non-Fellow students, strategically tailor our offerings to non-Engineering students interested in ethical AI for autonomous systems, and develop new industry partnerships across New Mexico. This position provides a unique opportunity for a Program Manager who can operate under a PI in a self-sufficient and independent manner, with attention to detail, accuracy, and creative problem solving. Principal duties include:

• Manage and oversee the administrative, financial, human resources and daily operations for RAISE, and additional Research Center and PI activities, funded by external grants in the School.
• Develop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain records that document the performance toward stated goals and metrics of associated grant activities.
• Oversee and implement programmatic, pedagogically informed events, including one-day student workshops (fall orientation, summer research retreat, spring semester reset), professional development program, and mentoring program for RAISE.
• Oversee targeted expansion and integration of programmatic offerings to non-funded RAISE Fellows.
• Implement a tailored offering of the RAISE Fellowship to non-Engineering students in Organization, Information, and Learning Sciences.
• Assist in producing, developing, and disseminating internal and outward-facing communications, including websites, information sessions, presentations, speaker series, social media products, briefs, reports, and correspondence.
• Oversee recruitment efforts at 3-4 regional universities and higher educational institutions.
• Manage contract, grant, and/or state funding; approve and monitor budget expenditures; prepare budget revisions; provide interim status reports on all accounts; oversee, coordinate, and/or assist with proposal writing to develop additional funding.
• Oversee and/or coordinate the collection, compilation, and analysis of program activity data; develops, writes, and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports.

Conditions of Employment
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications

• An advanced degree in engineering education or educational leadership is helpful for working with RAISE participants as familiarity with the challenges in conducting research as a graduate student is beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and visual) and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
• Ability to coordinate, manage, and implement projects, including the ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
• Ability to work independently with moderate direction, and with interdisciplinary teams.
• Familiarity with UNM processes and procedures.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary academic settings.
• Ability to coordinate and work effectively with faculty, students, and staff.
• Familiarity with NSF funded programs.
