Job description

Hiring an Operations Manager for our Albion, IL location. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the primary function of this role is to lead daily activities, improve safety, quality, & productivity, and manage resource allocation at our air filter manufacturing plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment
  • Maintains a safety-first culture throughout facility. Works with EH&S staff to establish and ensure implementation of safety standards
  • Ensure that operational activities remain on time and within budget and facility objectives are met
  • Monitors demand and capacity information to maintain appropriate hourly labor levels
  • Develops systems and processes that track and optimize safety, quality, cost, and delivery performance
  • Effectively communicates at all levels and supports communication throughout the facility.
  • Establishes goals, conducts performance appraisals and provides coaching and guidance for direct reports
  • Assists Plant Manager in the development of budgets
  • Develops and supports programs that provide training and motivation, resolution of employee problems, and coordination of work efforts.
  • Supports and ensures enforcement of company policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Operations Management, or Engineering or equivalent in education and experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager - preferred
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems โ€“ Lean, Six Sigma, IATF, etc
  • Knowledge of automotive air and cabin air filter manufacturing โ€“ preferred
  • Strong leadership, conflict management, problem solving, and communication skills
