Job Description:
Apex Systems is hiring a Lead Payroll Analyst for a large Healthcare client.
Location: Fully remote anywhere in the United States, however you must be able to support PST hours.
CA/WA/OR are preferred.
1-year contract with potential to convert or extend.
Role Overview
This position is for a lead data analyst with a background in Payroll. The role involves solving client analytics problems, communicating results, and developing experimental design approaches to validate findings. The analyst will also be responsible for identifying and analyzing data patterns, partnering with data stewards, and providing on-going tracking and monitoring of performance of decision systems and statistical models.
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute creative data analytic approaches leading to actionable outcomes by defining, calculating, and validating metrics and algorithms.
  • Develop, implement, and automate business and reporting solutions, including data reports, visualizations, and or interactive Business Intelligence (BI) reports.
  • Interpret data analyses by applying findings to contextual settings and developing insights and reports to enable and influence decision-making.
  • Drive strategic data-informed decisions by consulting with clients to identify key business needs, translating requirements, and developing analysis plans.
  • Gather and validate data across sources, completing routine data refreshes and updates.
  • Prepare data for analytic efforts by integrating, consolidating, and ensuring data quality and accuracy.
  • Develop analytical and/or statistical models to enable informed business decisions.
  • Practice self-development and promote learning in others by providing information, resources, and expertise.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in payroll analytics is required.
Technical Skills: Oracle HCM Payroll and Alteryx are highly preferred, however if there is strong SQL, Tableau, PowerBI experience - Alteryx is teachable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Oracle OACS.
Work Environment
This is a fully remote role open to candidates anywhere in the United States. The expected shift is during Pacific Standard Time (PST) business hours, with some flexibility. The interview process will consist of one panel interview.
