What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a Senior Business Operations Specialist who'll lead the high-impact projects that streamline how Makeship operates and unlock our next phase of growth. We are looking for someone with sharp problem-solving instincts, a bias for action, and a track record of turning ambiguous, cross-functional challenges into simple, scalable solutions. As a Senior Business Operations Specialist, you'll report to the Director of Operations and partner closely with teams across the business to evolve the workflows, tools, and processes that power our operations and set us up to support new strategic initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and lead cross-functional initiatives that substantially improve operational efficiency, reduce risk, and support company growth
  • Improve the workflows and tooling that departments across Makeship rely on for their operations, in close collaboration with Systems Engineering
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of existing processes and systems, distilling insights from multiple sources of data to identify problems worth solving and quantify their impact
  • Partner closely with stakeholders across the organization, ensuring their needs inform our operations roadmap and their expertise is leveraged to develop the best possible solutions
  • Educate team members across the organization on operational tools and systems, building broader organizational fluency

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in business operations, program or project management, or a related strategic/operational role, ideally at a fast-growing company
  • Proven ability to independently propose, scope, and deliver complex, cross-functional projects from ambiguity to measurable impact
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse teams, manage and mitigate risk, and clearly communicate prioritization and trade-offs
  • A root-cause mindset: you dig past symptoms to understand the "why" behind a problem before proposing a solution
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead meetings effectively, proactively anticipate stakeholder concerns, and build alignment across the org
  • A genuine drive to simplify and improve, energized by making things more efficient and comfortable driving change management for large-scale process shifts
  • High degree of organization and the ability to execute quickly without sacrificing quality
  • Empathy and a strong desire to support others and make their jobs easier

Bonus

  • Ability to work with no/low-code tools (e.g. Airtable, Zapier)
  • Comfort partnering with engineering teams to scope technical solutions
  • Background in e-commerce, crowdfunding, or creator/brand platforms
  • Familiarity with supply chain and/or coordination with manufacturing partners
  • Experience operating within a company through a phase of rapid scaling

Benefits & Perks

  • Work remotely anywhere in Canada and/or access any of our hubs
  • Health and dental benefits from day 1
  • 4 weeks of paid vacation (including paid time off on your birthday)
  • An additional 1 week of paid time off during the winter holidays
