Criminal Justice and Criminology
Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology as a Research Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026.
This position will work on projects related to the domestic threat posed by the use of drones. Other projects may be available as well, focused on terrorism generally.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • The student will assist Dr. Andrea Corradi in:
    • Literature Reviews
    • Contacting police departments and/or correctional agencies and sourcing contact information
    • Organizing and keeping track of responses and/or data
    • Data entry
    • Transcribing of interviews
    • Data analysis (with training)

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 10 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education
  • Junior or Senior Criminal Justice Major or Minor, or graduate student

Preferred Experience
  • Completion of CRJU 3233 - Criminology and a research methods course in the social or behavioral sciences, or completion of CRJU 5105 Homeland Security

Proposed Salary
$15.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
