Job description

Field of Activities:
Under the authority of the Mohawk Council of Kanesatake and the direct supervision of the Tsi Rontswa'ta:khwa Early Childhood Center Manager, the Educator is responsible for children in all aspects related to the development of their learning skills, hygiene, health, welfare and safety. The Educator will develop a program of activities consistent with the educational platform of the center, according to its values and policies.
The Educator is in charge of planning and application of a well-balanced program of activities for the age group assigned to him/her and must work well in a team setting.
Prerequisites:
  1. Diploma of College Studies in Early Childhood Education or an Attestation of College Studies in Early Childhood with a minimum of 4,992 hours or work experience or other training recognized by the Ministère de la Famille et des Aînés (MFA).
  2. Work experience with young children.
  3. Good communication skills in English and French (verbal and written).
  4. Knowledge of the Mohawk language is an asset.
  5. Good interpersonal skills.
  6. Be responsible and trustworthy.
  7. Demonstrative Initiative and autonomy.
  8. Must be compassionate towards children.
  9. Ability to manage a group.
  10. Work environment First Aid certification course and course adapted to early childhood or willing to obtain it.
