Job description

Bring your passion for mathematics to a vibrant high school setting and help shape the next generation of learners. This full-time contract opportunity is perfect for an experienced General Education Math Teacher eager to make a positive impact while working with students in the New Orleans area.

You will play a key role in guiding high school students through core math curriculum, fostering critical thinking, and preparing them for academic success. The assignment runs from August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027, following the school district calendar. You’ll join a supportive educational team and enjoy a structured weekday schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Louisiana Department of Education certification (TAT not accepted)
  • Proven ability to deliver engaging math instruction at the high school level
  • Capacity to effectively manage classrooms and cultivate a positive learning atmosphere
  • Commitment to meeting district credentialing requirements, including drug screening and fingerprinting
  • Ready-to-work status—candidates in the process of obtaining licensure will not be considered

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement high-quality lesson plans that align with state standards
  • Inspire and motivate students through interactive, student-centered instruction in mathematics
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Participate in staff collaborative meetings and professional development
  • Communicate consistently with students, parents, and colleagues to support student achievement
