We are seeking an early-career Instructional Designer / Learning Experience Designer to help build and scale high-impact learning experiences that drive performance. This role is designed for someone who is curious, hands-on, and motivated to develop craft across the full learning lifecycle-from concept through delivery and iteration.

You will contribute to both the design and execution of learning solutions that enable technical teams to learn quickly, apply effectively, and continuously improve. Working at the intersection of content, systems, and operations, you will help translate complex information into clear, practical learning experiences while supporting the infrastructure that makes learning accessible and scalable.

This role is an opportunity to build foundational expertise in learning design while contributing to a fast-paced, high-performance environment where learning is directly tied to real-world outcomes.

The Role

Learning Experience Design

  • Support the design and development of engaging learning experiences (e.g., e-learning, microlearning, instructor-led, blended programs)
  • Translate technical or subject matter expert (SME) content into clear, learner-friendly materials
  • Assist in applying instructional design principles (e.g., adult learning theory, learning objectives, assessment design)
  • Contribute to experimentation with new learning formats and delivery methods (e.g., cohort-based learning, microlearning)

Learning Content Development

  • Create and edit learning assets such as job aids, guides, slide decks, and digital modules
  • Support content reviews, updates, and version control processes
  • Ensure learning materials are accurate, relevant, and aligned with business needs

Learning Systems & Operations (LMS)

  • Assist with Learning Management System (LMS) administration (e.g., course setup, user management, reporting)
  • Help organize and improve learning content structure, tagging, and navigation within the LMS
  • Support audits of existing content to improve usability and effectiveness

Learning Pathways & Program Support

  • Help curate role-based or skill-based learning pathways
  • Map learning content to competencies, job roles, or career stages
  • Support program coordination, tracking, and communication

Process, Documentation & Collaboration

  • Document learning processes, workflows, and best practices
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, HR)
  • Assist with intake, prioritization, and project tracking for learning requests
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Education, Psychology, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Foundational understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theory
  • Strong written and visual communication skills
  • Comfort working with digital tools and learning technologies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Learning Experience Design, Education, Learning Sciences, Organizational Psychology, or Industrial / Organizational Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience (academic, internship, or project-based) in creating learning content or training materials
  • Familiarity with authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Captivate, or similar)
  • Exposure to LMS platforms
  • Experience working with subject matter experts
  • Interest in technology, engineering, or manufacturing environments
Work Environment
  • This position is based onsite in our Torrance, CA office
  • Hands-on ownership of real learning projects with meaningful impact
  • A fast-paced, evolving environment with opportunities to learn quickly
  • A mix of creative, analytical, and operational responsibilities across the learning lifecycle
  • Collaboration with technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Opportunities to build a strong portfolio of learning work
