QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Certified or eligible for certification from the Georgia PSC
  • Ability to work with administrators, faculty and staff, students, parents/guardians and the general public
  • Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
  • Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

JOB GOAL: To provide quality standards-based instruction; manages an effective learning environment to maximize student achievement.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Interact in a professional manner and abide by the Educator's Code of Ethics.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians and students about achievement, expectations, behavior, and upcoming events.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students and students' records.
  • Work cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
  • Comply with school, system, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies.
  • Conduct assigned classes at the times scheduled using the adopted standards as the instructional basis for lessons.
  • Appropriately enforce rules related to student conduct and discipline.
  • Provide adequate information, plans and materials for substitute teachers.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records.
  • Attend and participate in faculty meetings and other school related events or activities.
  • Model correct use of language, oral and written.
  • Demonstrate accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content.
  • Maintain certification.
  • Maintain lesson plans as required by school policy.
