In this role, you won't sit in a lab all day. You'll collaborate with customers, support manufacturing operations, investigate product performance, lead packaging trials, and help ensure the safety and integrity of products families rely on every day.
If you enjoy combining science, problem-solving, customer interaction, and innovation, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact with an industry leader.
What You'll Do

  • Work closely with customers and manufacturing teams to evaluate container performance in food applications, including:
    • Thermal processing
    • Shelf stability
    • Food compatibility
    • Storage conditions
    • Packaging integrity
  • Investigate and troubleshoot product performance concerns through:
    • Root cause analysis
    • Laboratory evaluation
    • Production review
    • On-site customer support
  • Lead packaging trials and validation activities focused on food safety, microbiological integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support new product launches by assessing material performance, food interactions, and processing requirements.
  • Educate customers on packaging best practices, food safety standards, and regulatory considerations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, sustainability, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to customer and manufacturing locations as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in:
    • Food Science
    • Microbiology
    • Chemistry
    • Biological Sciences
    • Packaging Science
    • or a related scientific discipline
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Food processing
    • Thermal processing
    • Food safety systems (HACCP)
    • Microbiological principles
    • Regulatory standards
  • Experience in food manufacturing, food quality, R&D, technical service, or packaging environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to interpret technical and laboratory data.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically up to 25%.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  • Join the market leader in the metal food packaging industry.
  • Work with nationally recognized food brands and high-impact products.
  • Blend science, manufacturing, and customer partnership in a highly visible role.
  • This role offers significant visibility across customer operations, manufacturing, quality, and product development teams.
  • Be part of a company committed to sustainability, innovation, food safety, and operational excellence.
  • Opportunity to influence real-world product performance and customer success.
  • Collaborative culture with strong support for professional growth and development.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range: $87,500 - $113,700 annually
    • Compensation based on experience, education, and technical expertise
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Life and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match up to 6%
  • 15 vacation days plus 10 paid holidays
  • Tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities
