Job description

General Description:
The M&A Manager plays a key role in supporting enterprise inorganic growth initiatives, including acquisitions, investments, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. This role partners with corporate and business unit leadership to evaluate opportunities, develop business cases, and drive execution of strategic initiatives. The position combines analytical rigor, project leadership, and cross-functional coordination to translate market insights and strategic priorities into actionable transactions and initiatives that support long-term growth and profitability.
Specific Responsibilities:
Strategic Analysis
  • Partner with Corporate Development and business leaders to evaluate strategic opportunities and support development of investment theses
  • Conduct analysis of market, customer, technology, competitor, and regulatory trends to inform decision-making
  • Support development of business cases and strategic recommendations for potential transactions and initiatives

Deal Execution & Diligence
  • Support execution of transactions including financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, and deal structuring
  • Assist in screening and evaluating potential acquisition targets, investments, and partnerships
  • Coordinate diligence efforts across functional areas (e.g., Finance, Legal, Tax) and synthesize key findings

Cross-Functional Project Coordination
  • Support the project lead across corporate development initiatives, ensuring alignment on scope, deliverables, and timelines
  • Manage aspects of project execution, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, and risk/issue management
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to structure agreements, contracts, and supporting documentation

Integration & Value Realization
  • Support pre-close integration planning and post-close execution efforts to ensure successful transition and value capture
  • Track initiative progress, interdependencies, and risks, ensuring alignment with business objectives

Executive Communication & Reporting
  • Develop materials and present insights to stakeholders, including clear, data-driven reporting and recommendations.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to Corporate Development leadership and business partners

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably with a major in Business, Finance or Accounting with 6+ years of relevant experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or related fields, or candidate can have a MS degree and 4+ years of experience, or 10+ years of experience in lieu of a degree
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, strategic initiatives, or deal advisory workstreams
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to perform financial modeling, valuation, and scenario analysis
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills with ability to influence cross-functional partners
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with intent and build strong partnerships across functions
  • Proactive, self-starter with strong accountability and execution focus
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Interest and / or experience in Cox's areas of focus (automotive, cleantech, edtech, govtech, online and traditional media and broadband communications) preferred but not necessary

USD 111,500.00 - 185,900.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary in the range of $111,500.00 - $185,900.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
Benefits:
The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
