About the Role
The Interdisciplinary Research Lab (IRL) is seeking a detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing research projects involving eye-tracking and behavioral data analysis. This role focuses on coding and organizing data collected from studies using iMotions software, contributing to research on learning, decision-making, and user experience in health sciences education.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in applied research, human behavior, and emerging technologies in education. Only current ATSU students with approved work study funds will be considered for this position. If you do not meet this eligibility requirement, please do not apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Code eye-tracking and behavioral data using iMotions software
- Follow a structured coding protocol to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Review recorded sessions and apply predefined coding criteria
- Organize and document coded data for analysis
- Participate in initial training sessions and periodic check-ins
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to research data protocols

Qualifications
Required:
- Current ATSU student with approved work study funds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
- Reliable and able to commit to consistent weekly hours
- Comfortable working independently after initial training
- Ability to work on-site in the research lab
Preferred (but not required):
- Interest in research, psychology, education, or health sciences
- Familiarity with data analysis, video review, or observational coding
- Experience with research software or willingness to learn quickly
