Fortune is seeking an experienced Features and Enterprise Editor to help shape high-impact storytelling on a broad range of topics defining global business.
This editor should have strong finance, tech, and business knowledge and be capable of developing indispensable, must-read journalism for Fortune's audience of executives, investors, and business leaders. They will work closely with senior editors to assign, edit assign, edit, and polish features and enterprise reporting--including quicker-turn "weekenders" off the news and ambitious deep dives--for Fortune's print magazine, digital magazines, and broader digital coverage.
You Will:
  • Work closely with Fortune's editor in chief, executive editors, and features team to develop compelling features and enterprise stories across business, finance, technology, leadership, and culture.
  • Help conceive, assign, and edit a mix of stories, including executive profiles, reported features, analysis, investigations, and data-driven projects.
  • Take a leading role in assigning and editorial packaging around Fortune's major list franchises, including the Fortune 500, Global 500, Most Powerful Women in Business, and 100 Best Companies to Work For.
  • Partner with writers to sharpen story ideas, refine structure, deepen reporting, and produce memorable, distinctive journalism.
  • Work with editors across the newsroom to identify stories with feature potential and help guide them from pitch to publication.
  • Collaborate with photo editors, designers, copy editors, and production teams to help create a rich, visually compelling mix of print and

  • Has high EQ and is a thoughtful collaborator with writers, editors, designers, photo editors, and copy editors.
  • Is driven by curiosity, an early adapter to new tech and journalism formats, and a fast learner of approaches and processes.
  • Combines news judgment with an appreciation for ambitious, conversation-starting storytelling and magazine-quality execution.

Location:
This role will be based in New York City at Fortune's headquarters five days per week.
Salary Range:
$150,000- $200,000. This range is a good faith estimate and may ultimately vary based on a number of relevant factors.
