Description
The Utah Jazz & Utah Mammoth are looking to hire an experienced Videographer/Editor for our broadcasts. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience shooting and editing in the world of sports. We are looking for an experienced storyteller who knows how to shoot for broadcast. You must be familiar with Sony cameras, specifically the FX3 and the FX6. You should be an expert in Adobe Premiere. Please include a reel of your work with your resume.
We're looking for a team player, someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and has strong interpersonal skills. This individual will work closely with the producers for both the Utah Jazz and the Utah Mammoth.
This position is onsite full-time and based in Salt Lake City, Utah.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • On-call availability to shoot stories, practice and post-practice interviews, and on game days: skate-around and in-game content.
  • Edit high-quality video content.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ideate concepts for varied platforms.
  • Shoot and edit content for pregame, game, and postgame broadcasts.
  • See project from pre to post production.
  • Able to help in many areas of production when needed.
  • Tag and log video content.
  • Keep track of equipment.
  • Take notes and execute in an on-time fashion.
  • Exemplify the Smith Entertainment Group mission and values: transparent, all in, community obsessed, one team, and scrappy.
  • Accept other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years as a Videographer and Editor, with expert-level knowledge of Sony camera equipment, and Adobe Premiere.
  • Knowledge of NHL and NBA is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will be an organized and efficient worker, used to juggling multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent communication, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Position will be based in Salt Lake City. Remote work (full or part-time) is not an option.

  • Ability to work a flexible, event-based schedule that will include nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
  • Ability to ice-skate a plus.
  • This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
  • This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
  • This person must be able to lift 20 lbs.
