Job Title:  Senior Video Producer

Location: Washington, D.C.

Job Description
 
  • Fulfills numerous duties including scripting, shooting, editing, and project managing video content for social media.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring that all systems are fully functional and optimized for performance. 
  • Works closely with internal teams and vendors to oversee system upgrades, troubleshoot advanced issues, and recommend improvements.
  • Provides technical guidance and training to junior specialists and assists in the development of telecommunications standards and best practices.
Education and Background
Typically has a Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience), and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent relevant work experience; e.g., each year of work experience may be substituted for each year of education required.

Required Skills
  • Provide expert-level on-site support for both workday and after-hours of videography for an average of seven events per week. This will be done utilizing professional digital videography equipment and expert-level current techniques. 
  • Provide expert-level virtual recording and editing support for direct-to-camera filming and remote interviews as needed.
  • Provide expert-level professional with video editing in accordance with assigned service requests and optimized for social media.
  • Video editing may require same-day or next-day delivery after important events and initiatives. 
  • Design expert-level custom videos and craft educational stories and messaging through crowdsourced videos, event recaps, promo videos, social media videos, live video, animated gifs, documentary, and direct addresses in accordance with assigned service requests.
  • In support of the Digital Director, create a "Working with PASC" Video Process Guides and Tips for helping program offices tell their story and effectively communicate messages.
  • In support of the Digital Director, create a Video Best Practices and Tips virtual and in-person training module, plus a one-page guide, for use by program offices and staff assistants. Conduct virtual or in-person trainings as directed by government manager. Update trainings as directed by government manager 
  • Outline, script, and produce video packages at an expert-level and in support of the Digital Director
  • Interview subjects for video packages that range from students to high-profile government officials and celebrities. 
  • Expert-level editing in various styles and formats. Provide expert guidance and creative ideas for professional quality videos for the bureau. 
  • Ensure videos are captioned and 508 compliant
  • Ensure a positive and measurable customer experience (CX) when working with all stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast on foreign policy issues and current events.
Preferred Skills
  • Conceptualize and produce contemporary and compelling video assets-event coverage, short- and long-form productions, original animations, social media sharable text graphics, and more-that inform and inspire. Be a visual storyteller, capturing the impact of our people-to-people diplomatic engagements in stills and motion.
  • Work in a variety of contexts providing end-to-end support or augmenting in house resources with a portion of a project - this includes scriptwriting, editing, animations and graphics, integrating content from multiple sources, and/or providing post-production for both videography and photography events.
  • Specialize in planning, scripting, capturing, producing, editing, incorporating graphics, post-production, and distribution of multimedia assets once wrapped.
  • Utilize and create media for specific channels and platforms to push stories and assets through multimedia video in a variety of contexts.
