Number of positions available: 1


Actively hiring for Fall 2026:

  • Students are eligible to work up to 40 hours/week during the summer, based on department needs. Preference given to students eligible to work a minimum of 15hrs/week.
  • Ability to commit a minimum of 8 hours/week during the school year. Preference given to students eligible to work a minimum of 10-12hrs/week.
  • Preference given to applicants with at least a semester of coursework in Communication, Journalism, public relations, or related field.


Are you a K-State student interested in a flexible work schedule, competitive pay, and supporting the University? The Communications Assistant supports the marketing communications department in generating content for the website, magazine and social media.


Writing/Editing

Assist with writing and editing of KSU Foundation articles, including researching, interviewing and writing stories for the web and magazine. This position may also support other work related tasks as assigned.


Customer Service

Promote and demonstrate respect, collaboration, and friendly customer service in all working relationships. Establish and nurture effective, collegial working relationships with foundation coworkers, university partners, and donors.


Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled at Kansas State University and an interest in communication, journalism, public relations or related field
  • Familiarity with AP style
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under time constraints
  • Confidentiality important
