Job description

Summary
The Litigation Support Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the firm's litigation section by managing key operational and technical functions that ensure the seamless progression of cases from inception through trial. This position combines expertise in docketing, eDiscovery, and trial support to deliver efficient, accurate, and technology-driven litigation services. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of working collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and external partners to support all phases of the litigation lifecycle.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Docketing
  • Manage and maintain the firm's docketing and calendaring systems to accurately track all court dates, deadlines, hearings, and case-related events.
  • Review court filings, pleadings, and correspondence to identify and calendar applicable deadlines in accordance with state, federal, and local court rules.
  • Monitor and stay current on updates to rules of procedure and jurisdiction-specific requirements to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Coordinate closely with timekeepers and support staff to collect necessary information for accurate docketing and scheduling.
  • Generate, distribute, and review daily and weekly docket reports to ensure all deadlines are communicated and met.

eDiscovery Support
  • Manage all phases of the eDiscovery lifecycle, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, and production of electronically stored information (ESI).
  • Collaborate with attorneys to develop discovery strategies, search terms, and review protocols that align with case objectives.
  • Coordinate with internal IT teams and external vendors to ensure secure, defensible data collection and transfer.
  • Administer and maintain document review platforms, ensuring proper data loading, user access, and troubleshooting support.

Trial Support
  • Coordinate the preparation, organization, and management of electronic trial materials, including exhibits, demonstratives, and evidence lists.
  • Operate and troubleshoot courtroom technology and presentation software to ensure seamless display of exhibits and demonstratives during proceedings.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and vendors to manage trial logistics, including equipment setup, on-site workspace, and day-to-day support needs.
  • Provide on-site trial support as needed, including travel to trial locations and adapting to evolving trial demands in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.

Requirements
Skills and Minimum Qualifications
Education & Certifications:
  • Associate's degree in information management, business administration, communications, or a related field or 4+ years of education, training, and relevant professional experience in litigation support, paralegal work, or legal technology.
  • Certified Information Professional (CIP) certification or Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS). (Preferred)

Knowledge & Experience:
  • Strong understanding of litigation processes and court procedures.
  • Proficiency in managing large volumes of data and complex deadlines.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management platforms and digital content organization.
  • Knowledge of various regulatory, security, and privacy standards. (HIPAA/HITECH, ISO 27001)
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Efficient written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions
The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (typical office or administrative work).
Physical Requirements

Salary Description
