What is an EDI Product Manager?

EDI Product Managers are professionals who oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) products and solutions. They act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure EDI products meet customer needs and comply with industry standards. Their responsibilities often include product strategy, roadmap planning, stakeholder communication, and managing the product lifecycle. EDI Product Managers play a key role in streamlining data exchange processes between organizations, improving efficiency and reducing manual errors.

How does an EDI Product Manager collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver successful integration projects?

To thrive as an EDI Product Manager, you need a solid understanding of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), product lifecycle management, and relevant industry standards, often complemented by a degree in business, IT, or a related field. Familiarity with EDI mapping tools, integration platforms, and certifications such as PMP or Agile methodologies are highly advantageous. Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills help drive collaboration and effective product delivery.
