Job Summary:
TriWest Healthcare Alliance is dedicated to serving America's heroes by connecting them to healthcare in the community. The Application Developer EDI Lead will lead a team focused on EDI development, ensuring system integration and optimal functionality for end-users while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Serves as project developer lead and/or project lead for a team of 5 application developers dealing with a specific EDI modules or functions. Keeps management team informed of project status and significant issues impacting outcomes.
โ€ข Coordinates the planning, organization, and direction of activities related to applications software as part of the Agile methodology.
โ€ข Provides daily support to functional end-users with system issues and processes. Takes active steps to increase understanding of end-users functions to support applications development process. Recommends process changes to end-users to optimize system functionality.
โ€ข Implements training plans to instruct end-users in program procedures.
โ€ข Trains users in the use of EDI solution and data distribution solutions report-writers.
โ€ข Researches the setup and functionality of supported modules to ensure optimal functionality for end-users.
โ€ข Functions as Subject Matter Expert for end-users with questions and helps debug system issues. Investigates and recommends new tools and applications to better support end-user needs. Collaborates with client department on functional system issues.
โ€ข Coordinates the work outcomes of external consultants. o Analyzes, reviews and rewrites programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt program to new requirements. Performs complex coding assignments. Converts logical design into program code.
โ€ข Evaluates and tests vendor-supplied software packages. Determines compatibility with existing systems. Provides technical support and trouble-shooting for vendor software. Installs and tests vendor upgrades and patches.
โ€ข Communicates with end-users and other IT staff on application upgrades, fixes and new processes, and impact of system changes on existing modules.
โ€ข Collaborates with end-users on upgrade testing to ensure successful migration to new versions.
โ€ข Develops system and program test plans, including obtaining test data, conducting program and system testing, and evaluating test results. Debugs systems and programs.
โ€ข Develops documentation defining application development process, including technical reports, communications, and instructional manuals. Maintains user manuals, system design documents, and program documentation. Writes instructions to guide IT operations staff with on-line production runs.
โ€ข Logs, monitors, and manages event calls regarding reported system issues.
โ€ข Analyzes, develops and supports multiple-system interfaces and data integration. Works closely with System Administration Team to plan patching impacts and upgrades to EDI solutions on a proactive basis.
โ€ข Regular and reliable attendance is required.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field with courses in programming and database systems
โ€ข 7+ years experience supporting applications related to healthcare, financial systems, or human resources
โ€ข 5+ years experience programming and report-writing in an Oracle environment
โ€ข 2+ years experience leading project teams
โ€ข 5+ years experience understanding of X12 EDI processing methodologies and file structures
โ€ข US citizenship and a favorably adjudicated DOD background investigation
โ€ข Department of Defense security clearance required
Preferred:
โ€ข 9+ years experience supporting applications related to healthcare, financial systems, or human resources
โ€ข 7+ years experience programming and report-writing in an Oracle environment
โ€ข 4+ years experience leading project teams
