Job Summary:
Voyager Technologies is an innovative defense, national security, and space technology company. They are seeking a Principal Edge Software Architect to define the structural integrity of their software across multiple product lines, ensuring alignment with Open Architecture principles and leading the transition of prototypes into programs of record.
Responsibilities:
• Define and enforce modular software architectures that ensure strict separation of concerns and maximize code reuse across different projects, specifically focusing on hardware-agnostic GPU acceleration.
• Oversee the implementation of complex signal processing and system autonomy algorithms, ensuring consistent system performance by leveraging edge AI and parallel processing capabilities.
• Lead agile development cycles, mentor senior engineers in GPGPU best practices, and drive the adoption of modern DevSecOps.
• Define system-level performance budgets (latency, thermal, SWaP) and architect software solutions that maximize the utility of embedded GPUs in constrained environments.
• Lead technical discussions with customers and partners. Articulate the value of our open software approach and ensure our designs meet evolving government standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college/university from an accredited college/university.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to program security requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance; active clearance preferred
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams in a structured software product development environment
• Strong organizational and technical communication skills, including presenting to internal and government stakeholders
• Seven (7) years to ten (10) years of software engineering design experience
• Proven experience leading software engineering teams through full development lifecycle
• Able to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
Preferred:
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college/university.
• Experience optimizing software for SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) constrained environments
• Contributions to open-source projects in the systems or HPC ecosystems
• Experience with heterogeneous computing platforms (CPU/GPU/FPGA) and frameworks like NVIDIA, Jetpacks or Holoscan
