Job description

Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible OBGYN physician to join our OB Hospitalist Program at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, California.

Our collaborative, team-based program provides 24/7 in-house obstetric and gynecologic care, with one physician covering at a time. This role offers the opportunity to practice hospital-based obstetrics in a highly supportive environment with strong specialty backup.

Responsibilities include:

  • OB triage, patient evaluation, and management
  • Delivery attendance and surgical assistance
  • Emergency Cesarean deliveries (support available from trauma surgery if needed)
  • Gynecologic consults and urgent/emergent surgery
  • Fetal monitoring and ED coverage for OB/GYN patients

You'll work closely with local OBGYNs, MFM specialists at a nearby sister hospital, and an in-house team that includes pediatric hospitalists, trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, adult hospitalists, intensivists, and emergency medicine physicians.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted California medical license
  • Current DEA license

Eden Medical Center, part of the Sutter Health Network, is the regional trauma center for Southern Alameda County and delivers approximately 1,200 babies annually. Opened in 2012, Eden offers:

  • 5 labor & delivery rooms, 2 triage beds, 1 L&D OR, 12 postpartum beds
  • A 6-bed Level I-II NICU (34+ weeks gestation), with pediatric hospitalists at every delivery
  • In-house anesthesiology coverage 24/7
  • Full EMR (Epic) with remote fetal heart rate monitoring
