About the Job
We currently have an opening for a Superintendent / Field Leader within our PM/CM group in New York City.
We are seeking an experienced construction professional to oversee day-to-day site operations on a major NYC public realm / streetscape project. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing field activities, coordinating subcontractors and utilities, and ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with agency requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Coordination

  • Organize, schedule, and oversee daily and weekly activities of subcontractors, vendors, and utility entities
  • Coordinate work in active urban environments, including NYC utility companies and agency stakeholders

  • Proactively identify and resolve field issues to maintain schedule and productivity
Record-Keeping & Supervision

  • Maintain accurate daily reports, field logs, and site documentation
  • Track labor, timekeeping, and cost-related field activities
  • Supervise self-performed work and implement efficient construction means and methods
Material & Submittal Management

  • Support submittal reviews and track long-lead materials
  • Oversee material deliveries and ensure proper inspection, documentation, and storage
  • Verify receiving tickets are signed, coded, and properly filed
Reporting & Compliance

  • Support jobsite reporting requirements including daily reports, RFIs, change orders, weekly unit reports, two-week look-ahead schedules, and monthly schedule updates
  • Review shop drawings and submittals in coordination with project management teams
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, agency standards, and company procedures
Meetings & Quality Control

  • Attend and participate in required jobsite and agency meetings
  • Maintain quality control and safety standards throughout all phases of construction
Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
Experience

  • 7+ years of relevant field experience on urban infrastructure, streetscape, or public works projects
  • Experience working on NYC DDC and/or EDC projects strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience with NYC utility coordination and work in active public rights-of-way
  • Familiarity with NYC agency processes, filings, and construction requirements
