Job Summary:
BSH Home Appliances Corporation is a leading manufacturer of home appliance brands Bosch, Gaggenau, and Thermador. They are seeking a Kitchen Design Specialist who will drive brand preference and appliance specification by building strong relationships with architects, designers, and retail clients while delivering tailored appliance solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Provides exceptional, personalized service to all EDC clients and visitors, including but not limited to architects, designers, builders, developers, and retail consumers.
• Conducts in-depth consultations to clients and visitors to understand project requirements and creates detailed appliance specifications and product lists based on architectural plans and client needs.
• Coordinates and participates in joint sales calls with sales and builder teams, focusing on trade engagement and relationship building.
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with key market influencers—including architects, designers, builders, and remodelers—as well as with design students and educational institutions.
• Drives sales through trade and retail channels by leveraging relationships with Star Partners (Thermador) and other trade professionals, maintaining regular outreach within an approximate 50-mile radius of the EDC and tracking related KPIs.
• Supports builder team in working with developers and architects to propose brand-appropriate, cost-effective solutions for multi-unit or home projects.
• Collaborates with Builder Team to support architectural and design community outreach, including during pre- and post-sale phases.
• Prepares and delivers compelling product and brand presentations for internal stakeholders, retail clients, and trade audiences.
• Confidently delivers continuing education units to trade, design and architect firms (CEUs), as needed.
• Executes trade-focused workshops, events, and showroom tours to drive brand awareness and sales performance.
• Interprets blueprints, CAD files, and renderings; informed on local building/fire codes as related to appliance specification and installation, and kitchen design trends.
• Travel occasionally to visit local trade partners, deliver CEUs, or attend local trade events including NKBA, ASID, etc.
• Review and advise on appliance plans for trade partners or dealer display designs, as needed.
• Serves as the subject matter expert for technical design, providing guidance and support to EDC staff and clients.
• Actively participates in ongoing product training to maintain deep knowledge of BSH brands (Thermador, Gaggenau, Bosch) and competitive positioning.
• Assists the EDC Manager with daily operations, including opening/closing procedures and showroom upkeep.
• Contributes to the planning, design, and execution of showroom updates, display installations, and renovation projects—ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and functionality.
• Provides design input on new vignettes, including layout, appliance selection, and visual presentation.
• Supports reporting, administrative tasks, and special projects assigned by the EDC Manager.
• Responds with agility to shifting priorities and evolving business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree (Kitchen Design or related) – Required
• Certification (Certified Kitchen Designer) – Required
• 5-7 Years of Experience (Kitchen Design (CKD)) – Required

• Familiar with commercial and residential design
• Excellent sales skills and working knowledge of all BSH brands and their relationship to competitive brands available in the appliance industry
• Good understanding of Interface Design and capable of making detailed designs
• Knowledge of construction and manufacturing standards with connection to design
• Proven track record of ability to excel in attaining maximum sales results through successful interaction with established customers and the development of new prospects
• Extensive knowledge of the studio market, cabinet manufactures, custom cabinets and the cabinet industry in general
• Extensive computer knowledge of graphic, CAD software, design principles, 3D program, ability to hand draw designs
• Salesforce, or other CRM
• Must hold or obtain certification for delivery of Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
• Strong knowledge on building codes and computer aided design experience
• Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office products
• Strong attention to detail skills and time management skills
• Ability to work in a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to speak to large groups and executives
• Requires minimal supervision
