Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ED Case Manager RN for a 13-week night shift assignment at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring at least 2 years of ED case management experience and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • Provides RN case management for adult inpatient and ED patient populations
  • ED Case Management unit within a Magnet, teaching, Level I Trauma Center
  • Night shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with rotating weekends and occasional day shifts
  • Patient ratio of approximately 1:20-25
  • Charting is done in Epic
  • No on-call responsibilities required
  • May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
  • Variable weekend requirements
  • Scheduled start days are Tuesdays
Requirements
  • Active RN license (Oregon license required)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA Traditional accepted, RQI not accepted)
  • Minimum 2-3 years of ED Case Management experience required
  • Inpatient medical/surgical, ED, and pediatric experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Level I/II Trauma Center experience preferred
  • Relias exam score of 85% or higher required
  • Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references not accepted)
  • Full work history for the last seven years required, including city, state, dates, and PTO details
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
  • Coordinates admission criteria, care coordination, discharge planning, and utilizes InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines
  • Applies knowledge of CMS, CPT coding, DRG, HEDIS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, NCQA, OSHA, and Joint Commission/National Safety Goals in daily practice
  • Assignment provides holiday coverage with no additional RTO offered outside of holidays
  • RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks; any additional time off is added to the end of the assignment
  • Scrubs may be any color except prints, and are provided by the facility
  • Daily parking pass costs $16, valid 8am-5pm; public transportation is encouraged
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this position
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • Former OHSU employees or previous travelers must have a completed reference from their OHSU manager and must have been gone at least 6 months to be eligible to return
  • May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed; refusal to float may result in contract cancellation
  • Background checks are comprehensive and lifetime in scope; no background or license issues will be accepted
