Who we are

At Ecosystem we believe we should be accountable for results. That's why we've integrated engineering and construction, seeing our projects through from design concept to implementation and commissioning. And that's how we can efficiently solve complex energy challenges in the built environment.ย

Here are some of the projects we've been working on recently: Adelphi University, Brown University and San Diego Padres Stadium.

Who you are

We are on the lookout for a dynamicย  Technical Construction Manager, someone who is an expert troubleshooter, who thrives on managing complex construction environments, who can be accountable and dreams of making an impact.

What you will do
  • Oversee on-site construction operations, managing subcontractors, client, and stakeholders at higher-education facilities.ย
  • Drive the success of projects in a versatile, and highly integrated team that works in tandem from design to completion, whilst ensuring safety and quality.ย
  • Manage and resolve technical challenges on-site by leveraging your problem-solving skills to achieve project goals in more efficient and cost-effective ways.ย
  • Navigate change/scope creep and solve technical challenges on site, always balancing costs, budgets schedules, and people.ย
  • Propose, estimate, and present project upgrades to the client.ย
  • Understand aspects of energy performance measures before committing to implementation.ย
  • Assume responsibility for managing project construction execution, adhering to budget, schedule, and quality standards.ย
  • Deliver an exceptional client experience.ย
Your profile
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience with ownership of construction projects, encompassing technical oversight, project management, delivery, and execution.
  • Experience in HVAC or mechanical constructionย
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, and negotiating skills in English.ย
  • Team player with a positive attitude, resilience, and determination.ย
  • Quick critical thinking ability under pressure.ย
  • Top-notch organizational skills.ย
  • Resourceful and excellent judgment
  • Field-based role with 4-5 days/week on active project sites across NYC and surrounding regions (Greater NY, Long Island, New Jersey; occasional Philadelphia). Candidates must live within commuting distance of the NYC metro area. Office presence is as needed; regional travel flexibility is required.
What Ecosystem offers
  • Competitive annual base salary ranging from $120,000 to $180,000, with final compensation determined based on a candidate's experience, technical expertise, and skillset, as well as geographic location.
  • High talent density organization in a rock-solid business environment.ย
  • "Ask me anything" approach from ownership and management.ย
  • Industry-leading health and safety practices.ย
  • Internal technical training and mentorship opportunities.ย
  • Team-oriented, collaborative work environment where curiosity and risk-taking are encouraged.ย
  • The opportunity to take ownership of results and see projects through from design to implementation.ย
  • Paid time off per year: We observe 10 public holidays, we offer a minimum of 15 days of vacation, and 5 personal (sick) days are encouraged to be taken (no justification required). On top of that, we have paid time off between December 25 and January 1 when our offices close for the holiday period for a well-earned break. ย
  • A comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, 24/7 Employee Assistance Program and telemedicine, and 401K.ย
  • Thriving people-first culture: we put our values in action in DEI, CSR, Innovation, and Social committees. We celebrate our successes together at Ecofest- watch the video here.
