Job Summary
St. Bernard College Preparatory (SBCP), a co-educational Catholic High School owned
and operated by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, is now accepting applications for
Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in World & US History,
Government, and Economics. The successful candidate must demonstrate up-to-date
knowledge of the content areas and be able to engage students using a wide variety
of teaching strategies. The candidate must be highly skilled at planning, organizing,
and developing a curriculum to meet all learners' needs. The candidate will also
effectively collaborate with colleagues to integrate the Social Studies department
goals and the school mission.
The Exciting Next Chapter
Over the next several years, SBCP is embarking on an audacious and exciting
re-imagining of what it means to be an effective school, given the dynamic higher
education and economic factors that young people face today.
This reimaging is informed by a recently completed strategic plan that calls for a
best-in-sector approach to instruction, curriculum, co-curricular programs, and a rich,
robust student life that promises to position SBCP as one of the pre-eminent schools
of choice in the Los Angeles area over the next few years. In addition to the exciting
growth at SBCP, coming in 2027, adjacent to SBCP is the Lulu's Place project, an
athletic and academic complex unlike any other in the nation.
