Job description

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia.
Qualifications:WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORBasic Requirements

  1. Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus.

    OR

  2. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.

AND
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
  • Leading research, evaluation, and economic policy analysis teams related to health or human services.
  • Communicating the results of health or human/services research by preparing memoranda or reports for officials/clients/sponsors or to audiences at conferences or workshops.
  • Presenting the results of economic analysis of healthcare, behavioral health, human/social services, or science to internal and external technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Developing and leading research and/or evaluation projects related to understanding the economic outcomes of health or human services programs or policies and the impact of such programs and policies on the beneficiaries of such programs or policies.
