Description
The E-Commerce Specialist is responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining high-quality product data and ecommerce content to support digital sales channels within an industrial distribution environment. This role focuses on product information management (PIM), manufacturer data coordination, ecommerce platform support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure accurate, searchable, and customer-ready product information that drives a strong B2B ecommerce experience.
Product Information Management (PIM) & Data Governance
  • Manage, maintain, and optimize product data within Akeneo or a comparable PIM system.
  • Collect, organize, enrich, and validate product attributes, specifications, pricing data, images, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of product data across ecommerce platforms and internal systems.
  • Maintain data governance standards, workflows, and quality controls.
  • Apply consistent product taxonomy and attribute structures.
  • Manufacturer & Supplier Data Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for manufacturers and suppliers related to product data.
  • Coordinate with vendors to obtain specifications, images, pricing, and documentation.
  • Identify data gaps and proactively drive resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong manufacturer relationships.

Ecommerce Platform & Content Support
  • Support e-commerce websites and portals with accurate product content.
  • Collaborate with marketing to support SEO and digital merchandising.
  • Assist with e-commerce initiatives including new product launches.
  • Capture basic product photography as needed.

Analytics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Support analysis of ecommerce performance metrics.
  • Track data completeness and recommend improvements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with Marketing, Business Development, Pricing, Sales, Customer Service, and IT teams.
  • Assist with ERP and ecommerce integrations.
  • Act as a resource for product data standards.

Requirements
Position Requirements
  • 2+ years ecommerce or product data management experience.
  • Experience with PIM systems (Akeneo preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience working with manufacturers.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in E-Commerce, Digital Marketing, Business, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Industrial or B2B experience preferred.
