We are looking for an eCommerce Specialist to enhance our digital platforms, improve discoverability, and optimize the customer journey.

What You’ll Do Enhance and Maintain eCommerce Platforms
  • Manage the Ave Maria Press website to ensure a seamless shopping experience, optimize product placement, and update site content regularly.
  • Own and manage the Shopify Plus eCommerce platform, including product setup, site management, promotions, merchandising updates, and basic troubleshooting
  • Set up, maintain, and optimize social media shops to increase product visibility, engagement, and conversion.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external website developers to scope requirements, communicate priorities, test enhancements, and support ongoing site improvements.
  • Stay current on Shopify platform updates and apps, new features, and best practices to identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
  • Implement SEO best practices to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to the website.
Maximize Visibility Across Platforms
  • Optimize the placement and promotion of Ave Maria Press titles on external platforms, including Google and Amazon.
  • Oversee pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns on platforms like Google Ads and Amazon, monitoring performance and refining strategies to maximize ROI.
  • Conduct keyword research to improve discoverability and create competitive product listings.
  • Own performance outcomes for the eCommerce site, with top priorities including increasing qualified traffic, improving conversion rates, and maximizing online revenue.
  • Develop and execute strategies to increase online sales, improve conversion rates, and expand the reach of our titles.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, IT, and Customer Service to ensure eCommerce initiatives are aligned with overall business objectives, technically supported, and customer-focused.
  • Analyze website and sales data to identify trends, measure the effectiveness of campaigns, and inform future initiatives.
  • Continually monitor and set goals in Google Analytics to track performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Manage timelines, priorities, and multiple initiatives simultaneously to support business goals.
  • Identify and test opportunities to improve conversion rates across the website and social comer channels through A/B testing, site optimization, and performance analysis.
  • Translate performance data and customer behavior insights into actionable recommendations to improve revenue and customer experience .
Enhance Customer Engagement
  • Create and manage user-friendly resources, such as FAQs and automated flows, to address common customer inquiries.
  • Regularly update and maintain the Help Center, ensuring accuracy and relevance of content.
  • Provide exceptional support to customers navigating our eCommerce platforms.
Coordinate Travel and Conferences
  • Assist in planning and staffing conferences, including booth setup, shipment coordination, and staff schedules.

  • Proven experience managing a Shopify Plus website (product setup, site management, promotions, and basic troubleshooting)
  • Strong knowledge of SEO , keyword research , and PPC campaign management .
  • Comfortable supporting higher-volume or more complex eCommerce environments
  • Hands-on experience setting up, maintaining, and optimizing social media shops.
  • Familiarity with platforms like SEMrush, Google Ads , and Amazon Seller/Vendor Central .
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Familiarity with Catholic teachings and publishing.
  • Highly preferred: A practicing Catholic or candidate who is strongly aligned with and supportive of the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Ability to travel as needed for conferences and events.
  • Strong communication skills , with the ability to collaborate effectively across Marketing, Sales, IT, and Customer Service.
  • This is a full-time salaried position. The expected work hours are 37.5 hours per week, between the business hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (ET), Monday through Friday.
  • This role is on-site at Ave Maria Press in Notre Dame, Indiana. Candidates who are willing and able to work on-site are strongly preferred; however, remote candidates will also be considered.
