The Ecommerce Manager is responsible for managing the company's online sales strategy. This role combines commercial ownership, digital marketing knowledge, merchandising expertise, analytics, and cross-functional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute ecommerce strategies to increase online revenue, conversion rate, average order value, and customer retention.
- Manage day-to-day ecommerce platform operations, including product listings, pricing, promotions, merchandising, search, navigation, and site content.
- Partner with marketing teams to plan and optimize SEO, paid search, email, affiliate, display, and social, campaigns.
- Analyze website traffic, sales performance, customer behavior, and conversion funnels to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with IT, web development, and UX teams to improve site speed, usability, checkout performance, and customer experience.
- Monitor competitor activity, ecommerce trends, customer feedback, and emerging technologies to keep the online business competitive.
- Prepare regular performance reports, forecasts, and recommendations for senior leadership.
Required
- 3-6 years of experience in ecommerce, digital marketing, online merchandising, marketplace management, or a related commercial role.
- Experience managing Shopify ecommerce platforms preferred
- Strong working knowledge of web analytics, ecommerce reporting, SEO, paid media, email marketing, and conversion rate optimization
- Experience collaborating with marketing, IT, operations, supply chain, finance, and customer service teams.
- Data-driven decision making and comfort interpreting dashboards, KPIs, customer behavior, and sales trends.
- Excellent project management skills, including prioritization, timeline management, and cross-functional coordination.
- Knowledge of UX principles, product taxonomy, site search, content management, promotion planning, and product feed optimization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present recommendations clearly to leadership and stakeholders.
- Leadership ability to manage coordinators, agencies, vendors, or cross-functional contributors.
