What is an ecommerce goodwill?

An Ecommerce Goodwill job involves managing online sales platforms for a Goodwill organization, including listing donated items, processing orders, and providing customer service. Employees may also handle inventory management, pricing, and ensuring quality control of listed products. The role often requires familiarity with e-commerce platforms like eBay or ShopGoodwill, along with basic photography and product description writing. It helps generate revenue to support Goodwill’s mission of providing job training and employment services.

In an Ecommerce Goodwill position, your day will likely include sorting and evaluating donated items for online sale, photographing products, writing detailed descriptions, and listing them on ecommerce sites. You’ll also process online orders, package items for shipment, and occasionally answer customer inquiries related to listings or sales. Collaboration with the donations and retail teams is common, and you may assist with inventory tracking to ensure accurate records. This dynamic role provides valuable experience in both retail operations and ecommerce processes, and is well-suited to those who enjoy a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
