eCommerce Merchandising Manager - Modesto, CA
Job Summary:
The eCommerce Merchandising Manager is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and commercial execution of TSMC's digital product catalog across the Save Mart, Lucky, and FoodMaxx banners, spanning TSMC-hosted sites and third-party marketplace partners. This role serves as the merchandising bridge between Category Management, Vendors, Supply Chain, and IT/platform partners, ensuring that in-store assortment, pricing, and promotional strategy are accurately and consistently reflected in the digital environment. This role owns item setup and data quality, catalog feed integrity, promotional content execution, introducing new storefronts e.g., Floral, Prepared Foods to our customers working in close partnership with merchants and ecommerce partners and item availability accuracy, partnering closely with the Digital team to ensure the underlying product data supports a strong on-site customer experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Own end-to-end item setup and product data quality across TSMC-hosted banner sites and third-party marketplaces (e.g., Instacart), including descriptions, imagery, attributes, and pricing accuracy
  • Partner with Category Management and Merchandising to translate in-store assortment, planogram, and promotional strategy into accurate digital shelf placement and pricing on 1P as well as 3P Ecommerce Platforms
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships for item data and image submission, establishing standards and accountability for content completeness and accuracy
  • Coordinate with IT and platform on catalog feed management, data ingestion, and content syndication across all banners
  • Execute weekly promotional content updates - digital circulars, featured items, banner placements, and product offers in coordination with Marketing and Loyalty teams
  • Audit product content and catalog data on a regular cadence; identify and resolve gaps in pricing, attributes, categorization, and item availability
  • Maintain item availability accuracy and partner with Supply Chain and Store Operations on substitution rules and out-of-stock logic
  • Support marketing & merchandising programs across digital touchpoints, ensuring offers are correctly reflected at the item and cart level
  • Work with the Retail Media team to coordinate the commercial and operational execution of sponsored product placements and on-site advertising inventory
  • Monitor digital merchandising KPIs - including out-of-stock rate, substitution accuracy, item data completeness, and catalog error rates - and drive continuous improvement
  • Support seasonal campaigns and new item launches by ensuring accurate, timely digital shelf setup ahead of go-live
  • Partner with Digital Marketing and Technology teams to flag catalog or data issues affecting the on-site experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage large SKU catalogs and high-volume content updates accurately
  • Ability to foster relationships, collaborate with others, and work effectively across Merchandising, Vendors, IT, and platform partners
  • Articulate and persuasive written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, problem-solve, multi-task, and deliver with strong time management skills in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Strong customer focus and orientation
  • Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for catalog audits, data QA, and reporting

Preferred:
  • Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and catalog/PIM tools; experience with Instacart, Swiftly, or similar grocery tech platforms
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
  • Understanding of loyalty and promotional mechanics (e.g., Member Pricing, digital coupons, Gas Rewards)

Experience: 5 minimum years experience in digital merchandising, ecommerce operations, or category management, preferably in grocery, retail, or CPG.
Education: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience/training
