The Director, Personalization - eCommerce will lead the personalization strategy development and execution across Walmart's eCommerce business. This role works across the organization to align, enable, and support the development of the Walmart eCommerce personalization roadmap. This leader will report to the Sr. Director, eCommerce and work closely with the eCommerce leadership team.

What you'll do:

  • Owns and drives an eCommerce P&L focused on improving on-site personalization i.e. developing personalized customer experiences, personalized item recommendations, targeted promos, badges and offers, gamification and loyalty.
  • Develops and executes a personalization strategy that aligns with our business goals and enhances the customer experience. Communicates vision, strategy, business updates to cross-functional senior leaders; ensures successful rollout and implementations across broader eCommerce audience.
  • Leads a data-driven approach to personalization by working closely with product management, data scientists and analytics to identify key metrics and build models that deliver personalized recommendations across all touchpoints in the customer journey.
  • Influences direction through data-driven decisions; identifies and executes improvement opportunities; lead A/B tests; develops creative solutions; and prioritizes assignments to meet business needs.
  • Develops strategic roadmaps and recommendations by sourcing, organizing, analyzing, and interpreting data and information; providing insight on current and future business trends; identifies, creates, and communicates trends; developing and implementing scorecards; translating data analysis into recommendations aligned with business objectives.
  • Leads partnerships with key stakeholders across Product, Design, Site Merchandising and Engineering, developing new innovations and tools for on-site discovery and conversion; leveraging best practices and competitive intelligence; to improve the customer experience.
  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of eCommerce, digital business leadership, management consulting, corporate strategy, and/or related business experience. Martech, Adtech, and/or Personalization experience preferred.
  • Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills; ability to structure ambiguous problems, to bring logic to drive key analyses, and to synthesize analyses to actionable insights
  • Strong quantitative background with experience distilling insights from complex data
  • Connects creative out-of-the-box thinking to business implications and financial outcomes
  • Ability to create strong working relationships with all levels of the organization, including building relationships and influencing senior management teams
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills with the ability to translate highly complex concepts and communicate them in a concise, digestible manner
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness to remove obstacles, to manage crossโ€‘functional complexities and stakeholders; and to prioritise in a dynamic environment
  • Exceptional people leader with ability to inspire, motivate, and develop teams

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00-$286,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or a related area and 6 yearsโ€™ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area; 3 yearsโ€™ supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or a related area and 5 yearsโ€™ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
  • Experience in creating inclusive digital experiences, implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.
