Job description

LaSalle Network has partnered with a growing travel company in their search for a Director of eCommerce to join their team!
In this role, you will lead the operational management of digital web channels, ensuring the website delivers an exceptional, inspiring, and seamless experience for travelers while supporting business growth.
You will be responsible for optimizing site performance, increasing engagement, generating leads, and improving conversion, and so much more!
This role is perfect for someone who wants to be in a hybrid strategic and execution role, as you will get to own the entire global website strategy while also being hands-on in daily execution.
Responsibilities
  • Own and drive the performance of the companyโ€™s digital web channels, with a primary focus on the US market.
  • Deliver digital revenue targets by improving engagement, lead generation, and conversion across the customer journey.
  • Lead website optimization, UX/UI, and digital merchandising to create a seamless, inspiring travel booking experience across desktop and mobile.
  • Define and execute the digital experience strategy in alignment with business goals and evolving traveler behaviors.
  • Ensure travel products are accurately presented, easy to navigate, compare, and book, with compelling and high-quality content.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Product, and Marketing teams to align digital experience with business priorities.
  • Leverage data and analytics to optimize customer journeys, conversion funnels, and overall site performance.
  • Oversee digital platforms and vendor relationships, including CMS, booking systems, and third-party technology partners.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team across UX/UI, content, SEO, analytics, and onsite optimization.
  • Implement personalization and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and drive growth.
  • Ensure all digital experiences meet legal, privacy, and accessibility standards.
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading eCommerce or digital experience within a travel, hospitality, or consumer-focused business.
  • Strong track record of driving revenue growth, website performance, and conversion optimization.
  • Deep expertise in UX/UI, SEO, content strategy, analytics, and onsite performance optimization.
  • Customer-centric mindset with the ability to design intuitive, personalized digital journeys.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building and managing high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of gaining stakeholder buy-in on strategies and execution of plans
  • Data-driven and analytical, with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Technically proficient, with experience managing CMS platforms, booking engines, and digital tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker who can balance big-picture vision with hands-on execution.
  • Proactive and innovative, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, data privacy, and accessibility standards.
  • Having experience in premium hospitality or luxury is a HUGE plus!
Key Details
  • Compensation: This position pays $145k-$155k as a base salary, dependent upon experience, plus a 20% bonus eligibility
  • Benefits: Offers a full suite of benefits including (but not limited to): medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401k, and 21 days of PTO.
  • This position requires the candidate to be in office four days a week in downtown Chicago.
