About JLab

JLab imagines and delivers the personal technology products that consumers want. With our line of personal audio gear and office accessories, weโ€™re innovating absolutely everything to make way better personal tech. Based in San Diego, weโ€™ve been offering the right sound, the right features, and the right value since 2005.

Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Staff Accountant to own JLabโ€™s ecommerce accounting and daily banking operations. This role is a key contributor to the accuracy of our financial records, ensuring high-volume ecommerce and cash activity is properly recorded, reconciled, and reported.

This position offers meaningful exposure to both the operational and financial reporting sides of a fast-growing, ecommerce-driven consumer brand. Youโ€™ll own key accounting processes that directly affect the accuracy of JLabโ€™s month-end close and financial reporting, while building deep knowledge of ecommerce accounting across multiple global channels.

The ideal candidate is data-fluent, comfortable working across systems, and has hands-on experience reconciling high-volume transactional data. Strong performers will have clear development path and opportunities for growth within the organization as the business continues to scale.

If you enjoy tackling accounting challenges, collaborating across teams, and taking ownership of critical accounting processes, we'd love to hear from you.

Ecommerce Accounting

  • Prepare and post monthly accruals for marketplace fees across all key regions and channels
  • Monitor month-over-month performance metrics for key ecommerce customers and provide analysis to support understanding of business trends, operational impacts, and financial results
  • Partner with the Ecommerce and Operations teams to investigate discrepancies, resolve coding issues, and ensure platform activity is accurately captured in NetSuite

Banking & Cash Management

  • Prepare and post daily banking journal entries in NetSuite, including cash receipts, bank fees, interest income, and intercompany transfers
  • Monitor daily cash balances and liquidity across banks, and coordinate cash transfers to maintain appropriate operating balances and escalating funding needs when necessary
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly

General Accounting & Close Support

  • Execute assigned month-end close tasks within established timelines
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for all areas of ownership, supporting JSOX control testing and external audit evidence requests
  • Participate in the development and refinement of accounting processes, controls, and documentation to support a scalable and well-controlled accounting organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, with meaningful exposure to high-volume transactional or ecommerce accounting environments
  • Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and month-end close in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and large data set reconciliation
  • Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP strongly preferred
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage recurring deadlines consistently and accurately
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and gather information
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for this position at the time of hire and must maintain work authorization for the duration of their employment. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $66,000โ€“$82,000/year, based on experience.
  • Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, target 5% of base salary, based on individual and company performance.

Benefits & Perks, to name a few!

  • Flexible hybrid schedule
  • 2 weeks Work-from-Anywhere program
  • Competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and additional insurance options.
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • 401(k) with 4% Match
